Holiday Inn LaGuardia Airport

Arrived at hotel with a guaranteed reservation made two weeks prior to arriving. I took a taxi from the airport and arrived to find the hotel closed. No one answered the phone. I called IHGs 1-800 number. They assisted me with another reservation at a different property but didnt help me with any associated costs with changing properties (like the extra cab ride) i have stayed at this property in the past a couple of time but will never stay here again. Property management could have contacted me if they wanted to close the hotel.

I was permitted by IHG to pre checkin to a vacant property.
Upon arrival I was shocked and distressed that I was standing in front of a vacant building with garbage and damaged furniture strewn about. Finding lodging in a metropolitian area near LaGuardia Airport with a large concert in town for an immediate checkin was very difficult.

"shut the building down" I was on my way to the hotel when I decided to call first.. The guy who answered said someone should have notified me, the whole hotel had to shut down." Insane. Unacceptable. I was traveling for four days with my daughter and her friend, both younger teenagers.

They are currently closed. They cancelled our reservation for this weekend and never notified me. If I had not gone in to look up the amenities I would have shown up having no idea my reservation was cancelled. I was left finding a new place to stay the night before my arrival. I feel bad for anyone who booked a stay for Governor's Ball and still have no idea its closed.

Great service... best hotel ever...

Homeless people are actually occupying the rooms.
