One of my friends does her kiddos parties here in the pool area. Always friendly staff and good experience. Kids love it and the birthday host always stays the night in a couple of the rooms and enjoy the stay. I like the fact rooms facing the pool area and clean atmosphere. They have Godfathers pizza inside which is another plus for easy ordering. You can also bring your own food as well which is nice since some places don't allow it.Report
Pretty great place to have a large gathering. They did a great job with food and beverages. The only thing is they were so quick at cleaning up I stepped away and they swiped up my half full drink. Thankfully I wasn't paying for it. Floors throughout also seemed like they needed a good cleaning l. But overall a nice placeReport
Good news was this was a free night due to the nice IGH awards program. The night before I stayed also for free in the Holiday Inn Express next door. Had I paid for the rooms I would have thought the value in the Holiday Inn Express was significantly higher.Report
- This hotel charged for breakfast. I've probably stayed over 50 nights in hotels this year and this is the first time I recall having to pay extra. When I paid my bill I was told that was because it's a full service hotel. Ok, fine, that's what I expect than.
- Fitness center. 3 of the cardio machines were less than fully functional. One didn't display workout time, one didn't display calories and if I recall correctly the heart rate monitor wasn't working on one. The peddle straps were broken on one of the bikes.
Hot tub, despite sign saying you must be 10 or older to be in the tub and no children after 9 at all and a limit of 10 people, I found myself in a hot tub with 11 kids ages 2-8? , and one of the parents. After 9, nothing changed.
General upkeep, lot's of signs of wear and areas needing paint. Not shocking for a hotel obviously catering to families with kids, but I consider full service to also mean looks real good.
Fitness room towels were full size. The mid size towels I believe that were in the Express actually hang on a machine easier.
Elevator, where is it? My room was on 2nd floor. If there was an elevator I never found it. While I like taking stairs when it's just me, when I have 3 bags going up or down stairs is not my idea of even partial service.
Common areas, lots of clutter.
Room bathroom. This was the smallest bathroom of ANY hotel I've stayed in (and I've stayed in some cheap ones). The entire room is plenty big, so I have no idea why the bathroom isn't 1 or 2 feet wider. To use the toilet comfortably the door needs to be shut or else you sit at an angle. To shut the door there is all of about 2.5 sq feet that you must stand in ( space between the toilet and counter).
This is probably the only US Holiday Inn that I'm reluctant to revisit.
Short and sweet, top 3 IHG properties I've ever stayed in.Report
Small pool, small hot tub completely crowded and full of children. No room or place for an adult.Report
No complimentary breakfast, it was only $11 for a breakfast buffet but that's not the point. Small bathtub in the room. Hair left in the bathtub even.Re: Small pool, small hot tub ... Holiday Inn Fargo replied on Thursday, December 16th 2021Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are unable to offer a free breakfast as a full service hotel, however you are able to add it into your room price easily and at a great discount if you are interested in the future. I will also be speaking with my housekeeping team and inspectors regarding the hair you found in your bathroom. This is unacceptable and I am very sorry that happened. We do hope that you will be able to try us again in the future.
My overall experience was poor. The room wasn't as clean as I would expect it should be and there was no hot water in the bathroom. There was also bedding in the hallway from the room next door for 2 days that was still there when I checked out. This used to be my first choice for hotel stays in Fargo. I will no longer be staying here.Report
Good this is to get to 50 characters still going nowReport
