Holiday Inn Express Richmond - Downtown

I've stayed here several times. The hotel is well maintained and the staff is courteous. The location is pretty good - it is within walking distance to several excellent restaurants.

The parking deck is a bit dark in the evening, so keep that mind is parking at night, and you have to pay for parking - it is not included in the room rate.

The customer service at the front desk was great and the employees were very professional and friendly.

The staff was very kind and helpful. The rooms were clean. We had no problems. Everything was good.

This hotel is in a convienent location. Walkable to downtown, VCU, and restaurants. The hotel staff were super friendly. The room I was in had (what I really hope was) melted chocolate stuck on the carpet and entrance floor and it felt gross walking around on the carpet without shoes. I bought some flipflops to feel better. The bathroom had floss debri on the mirrors from a previous guest. So gross. I'm not one to complain but the cleaning standards make me worry about what other corners are being cut. The breakfast was a typical, sad, American sugar guised as nourishment but really just empty calories. Some hotels are refreshing and vibrant. This was not one of those.

The night clerk jason did not give me my complimentary upgrade nor did he get me a different one since mine was covered in hair from the floor to shower to sink. JASON lied to me said the hotel was completely booked. When i went down for breakfast and saw the limited options and no people I asked the attendent and they were far from booked. I spoke to the manager in the morning he was very nice and was going to speak to Jason and explain what me, a Spire Elite member should get and the treatment. This makes me want to switch to Hilton or Marriott. I travel weekly for work and this hotel will not be one of my destinations ever again. The manager was very nice but JASON the lieing night clerk got your hotel a 1 star.

Clean and convenient. Parking was good. Staff was very courteous. Lobby could use more snacks.

We stayed three nights, staff was very helpful, room was comfortable and clean, breakfast was good, parking is convenient under hotel. If your auto is under 6 feet, you can park under hotel. Our Honda Pilot fit o,k. It was a short convenient walk to convention center.

This was an underwhelming experience at an IHG property. The location was pretty good, but the layout of the hotel (parking, location of the lobby) was very confusing and the hotel itself was run-down. Loud, rattling AC, dirty looking and feeling room, shower with visible dirt. It needs a total renovation.
