Hatfield Hyundai

I was glad to see that most people had a great experience with Germain Hyundai, but unfortunately, I had a bad one. I was dealing with sales to lease an Elantra for a 36-month lease promotion they had. After a series of discussions, I was offered a deal with my car trade-in and some down payment. I understand they offered me some good credit/discount, which I don’t deny. They also mentioned the residual amount of the vehicle after the lease was complete. Luckily, I noted the residual amount.

All happy, I prepared to get the paperwork done. Even before the paperwork process, I clearly asked the sales representative to make sure all the terms and conditions were as discussed before: car trade-in, $1000 down, 36-month lease for a fixed monthly amount, along with the residual amount. He opened the paper he had and confirmed.

We proceeded with the paperwork, provided all personal information for the credit check, and started signing the papers. Guess what? The surprise was that the residual amount was $432 more. When I questioned it on it, they called the manager who is dealing all the time, and he said that because I asked for the low payment, the residual was calculated based on 39 months lease. He talked about the rebates they gave rather than the increase in the residual price. I was so surprised and shocked to see something different than they mentioned before the application/paperwork started and after. There was never a discussion about 39 months with sales rep or the manager. Finally, I had to cancel the transaction/deal because of this dispute. Unfortunately, there is a hard inquiry on my credit. It was really frustrating.
