Nightmare experience with them. If you don't have time to read the whole story, just never never hire them if you expect professionalism, good customer service and reasonable price.

I hired them to install new floor tiles in my kitchen. The project manager, David King, came to for an estimation, and we discussed the details about what appliances will be moved and what pipes I had behind the appliances. We agreed that I will pay a special plumber to disconnect/connect the gas pipeline and he wrote that into the quote.

After I paid the deposit, they kept increasing the price for various reasons. They found that the tiles was underneath the cabinet and increased the estimation for that. When I consulted with David that I expected that should be done during the estimation and put in the quote, David yelled at me over the phone and insisted it's not a part of the estimation and blamed me that I didn't know or told him the situation.

David send a worker called Luis to work who seemed very inexperienced. He found a layer of gypcrete underneath the tiles, and he was never worked on, and guessed that David might hire someone else to do it before he could work on the tiles. During the time they order the gypcrete, I asked David to send an experienced worker, David insisted that Luis is one of the best workers in their company who just never handled the specific material.

The second week, Luis showed up in the morning. He didn't know how to disconnect pipes from the washer, and asked me to hire a plumber because he found the valve connected to the fridge is broken. He also expected the plumber to disconnect the pipes from the washer for him. I called David and talked to both of them over the speaker phone. I also called to get a plumber in at 2pm in the afternoon for a rush hire. Then I asked if Luis would prefer to stay to wait for the plumber or explain to me what I should ask the plumber to do. Luis got mad at me talking to his boss and started behaving very unprofessionally. I told him that I didn't mean to give him a hard time before his boss, but it is best for all of us to be on the same page so we could move forward smoothly.

My condo plumber came in and told me that it's very easy to disconnect the pipes from the washer and was very surprised the guy could not do it. My hired plumber came in and found out the ball in the valve is broken but it is not necessary to fix it because they could just shut off the main water supply valve during their work time.

Then things became dramatic and shocked me. I explained to David the situation and I expected Luis could try different options to solve the problem he encountered in the job. David blamed me that I didn't know that by myself. He tried to sell me the tiles and let me to find someone else. I refused to buy their materials. Then David just wanted to have their material back and ignored my other requests. Luis took away a piece of molding and never put it back. David just said I could get one anyway when I hire someone else.

Another two workers picked up their material, and David found one bag is opened. Upon being asked, I told them I didn't touch anything, but I remember Luis did bring an open bag on the first day. David accused me and said it's impossible for Luis to open the bag because that's is a grout bag to be used for the last step. David also called me rude to comment on Luis's capability, and accused me that I tried to stop Luis from leaving my home, slamming the door before him, and forcing him to wait for the plumber.

David behaved just like a bully to me. I am not sure who lied to whom, but it is unbelievable that Luis would accuse me, a small size woman would even think of or try to confine him, a much bigger man, in my own home. It is more unbelievable that David chose to believe that!

The last but not the least, they told me that they will fully refund me before picking up their materials, but I have nobody to confirm because they just disappeared, made no response, and no refund.

The customer service was horrible. David King came to give us an estimate. We scheduled a date for them to come and remove tile. Our appointment was between 8-10 am. They called at 9:11am and changed it to 3pm. We called them at 3:30 since no one had arrived yet. At 3:45 still no show. Than we were told someone would be here by 4:20. They finally showed showed up at 5:37 pm. We declined service at this point since we had been waiting all day and had other things to do. Throughout the entire day we were told they would be there in 20 minutes than 10 minutes. This company is a joke and really didn't care. Good Luck if you choose them. I advise not too

I apologize for the inconvenience we caused you. I spoke with you at 6:03pm and tried to explain what had happened concerning the installer's van having transmission issues. As I told you on the phone, I apologize, we should have communicated much better. After our call, I issued you a full refund. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience and wish you well with your project.

Awful customer service experience. I confirmed with Ana a day/time for an estimate based on options they provided and cleared my schedule accordingly. After the fact, she told me that my chosen day/time was no longer available. She said their schedules change rapidly because they are busy. I let it slide. She offered alternative days and times , and I picked one. I again cleared my schedule. No one showed up. When I emailed her about it, she said the appointment was moved to the following day and she didn't know why! No one had the courtesy to tell me. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this place. Completely unprofessional and unreliable.

We've used Hatcher's Floors to replace the hardwood floors downstairs, install hardwood upstairs and install wrought iron railings. They worked as a team to get the job done quickly, and they took care of every detail. Everything looks great. They took their time and re-stained the stairs a few times w/3 different stains to make sure it matched the flooring. They have our highest recommendation

Beautiful, skilled work. They replaced all my floors with hand laid, unstained wood. Then stained it. It's gorgeous and was laid ten years ago and is still perfect. I highly recommend this business.

Wanted to get our hardwood floors refinished in our home. The oak floors had some water damage and areas on the floor were cupped up. Called Hatcher's and two other flooring companies for estimates. Ed Furchak from Hatchers came to our home to take a look at the flooring and discuss the process of refinishing. He also took the time to go over the the wood stains and the different types of clearcoats for the finish. He gave us estimates with the different types of clearcoats so we could make our choice of finish. Hatcher's price on refinishing was very reasonable and they explained the work scope much better than the other two companies. Hatcher's men started the work on our floors, they covered all the kitchen area and always had the areas clean and safe each day. The finishers were professional, curtious and very hard working guys. Now for the best part, the floors are beautiful, all the damaged areas are gone, flooring is perfect, the floors are smooth as glass, no sanding marks, no minor scratches. The floors look brand new, even better now than when they were installed new 17 years ago. Take my advice, you need any hardwood flooring or refinishing, call Ed from Hatcher's and they will take good care of your project.

I recently purchased an older fixer upper home in Arlington VA. It had existing hardwood floors but there were terrible stains and deep gouges everywhere. We also wanted to install wood flooring in a couple areas that had previously been carpeted. I got estimates from 5 different companies. 4 of the companies told me the stains and gouges were too bad and that the flooring was beyond repair. They tried to get me to rip out the existing hardwood and install new prefinished flooring. Tom at Hatchers was the only one that said he could do the job. He made it a point to let me know that he would personally be overseeing the job and that they didn't use any sub contractors (this was a big deal for me). I was skeptical because of what the other flooring companies told me about it being too far gone but Tom seemed sure they could do the job.
Day 1 the guys arrived right on time and got straight to work. They removed the old carpet and replaced a few pieces of wood in two different areas because it had some termite damage. They also installed new un-finshed oak wood in two of the bedrooms.
Day 2 they showed up right on time again. One of the guys talked to me about different stain colors. I told him what I thought I wanted but he insisted that I see it on the floor beside a few other colors first. He said they dont always look the same on the floor as they do on the stain charts. While we were talking other guys were hanging plastic in the areas that were not getting refinished. With in the first 15 minutes they had 4 different stain colors down on my floor and I picked out a totally different stain then what I thought I wanted. By the end of the day 2 the floors were sanded and stained. The next 2 days the guys showed up in the afternoon and put coats of finish on.
Im blown away with how these floors look and im beyond impressed with Tom, his crew and everyone at Hatchers Floors. From the time I called them to the completion of the job everyone was professional and things went exactly the way they said.
