I offered to help this agency by fostering puppies, when I was told there was a desperate need for foster homes. After several emils back and forth, I was told the puppies would be ready for me to pick up on a certain date. So I went to all of the effort to get ready for puppies, setting up a fenced in room with blankets and newspaper, buying toys, and lining up people to come help us care for the puppies when we were going to be out of the house for long periods of time. My husband arranged for the day off. My daughter was all excited. On the night before, I emailed to ask about the pickup time and location. Midway through the next morning, they wrote that the puppies would be staying in their "current placement". They went on to say that there were other puppies we could foster on a different date. I wrote to the director to explain about my efforts and willingness to help and their lack of communication. I got NO response, apology, or explaination....nothing. I understand this organization is run by all volunteers but they shouldn't waste peoples time like this. I know that this organization does good work for dogs, but if this happens to other volunteers they will have trouble finding help. I'd still be willing to help if I got an explanation.
