GoCayman Car Rental in Grand Cayman

Started off with a great experience from the driver at pickup from the airport. The car was decent and the rates were comparable. Got worried at pickup from comments made during the walk around and then was charged $60 after I dropped it off for excessive cleaning. I thought it was pretty clean other than some minimal sand that you would likely have from an island. I asked when we left that we were good and then I got a receipt for charge of $60. I have rented for over 10yrs in Cayman and never had a cleaning charge. Seems like a easy way to make up the cheaper charge. I will use others next time.

**Update**
I heard back from GoCayman and they have refunded me the extra cost for cleaning. Based on my rental time of 3 weeks it was acceptable for the sand in the car. I would caution all renters to take your time and clean out any sand before return. I appreciate them responding to my issues and would rent from them again.

They did not have the car I’d requested available, but never emailed or left a voicemail to let me know.

When we arrived, the shuttle to the rental agency left without picking us up. When we called to request shuttle service, they told me my rental had been cancelled, however I never received a cancellation email, only a reservation reminder email.

They’re also the only agency that doesn’t have a dedicated airport pickup zone for rentals. That was our first red flag upon arrival.

The man on the phone apologized and said they would get us a better car and honor my rate. That did not happen. The story changed once the shuttle dropped us off at their location.

The manager, Dwayne, was horrible to work with. Not apologetic, super condescending, and blamed me for their cancellation (he claims the cancellation email went to my spam folder, I checked- it didn’t). They then attempted to up sell me on a comparable car for an additional $500. He told me it was my fault that the cancellation email never arrived and failed to take any level of ownership or offer customer service.

The treatment and service from Dwayne was so poor that eventually I had to tell him he couldn’t speak to me that way and bring a man from my group in, as clearly this manager has a problem with women. If you are a woman, I would not recommend doing business with this company.

The manager was rude, unapologetic, misogynistic, and failed to properly resolve the issue. It took so long to get resolved and he purposefully dragged out the process. The worst start to our trip. They will twist their rules in an attempt to get you to spend more and will tell you it’s your fault. We ended up overpaying for a much smaller, much worse car. They told us we would receive a discount, but when the charge came through my cc, I saw that they had not honored the discount.

Horrible experience working with this rental agency, don’t recommend. It’s worth it to pay more elsewhere and avoid the headache.

This place was cheaper than the major companies, but it was a major PITA to rent from them. You have to take a shuttle from the airport rather than just walking to your can like the others. There was only one shuttle so the waits both coming and going were too long. We won't be renting from them again

Do not rent from this place! I had two cars reserved and when I showed up they wanted me to bring one back at 11 and trade it for a different car. I only had 1 day on the island. I booked the vehicle weeks in advance.
This place is a scam! They do not have a fleet of automobiles.

We were looking to hire a car recently for a 3 week stay on the island, we first approached Hertz who had nothing at all available for the length of our stay. We then did a Google search and found this company. We were able to hire a Subaru Impreza for all 3 weeks at a very reasonable price. These guys were very professional and a pleasure to deal with and the car was completely adequate for our time on the island, we cannot recommend them highly enough!

Very good service from Go Cayman. We had an A/C issue with our rental car (these things happen when you are not getting brand new rental cars) and the company took care of the problem quickly and adjusted the rental rate accordingly. I would definitely rent from the again.

Had a wonderful experience. Carl picked us up from the airport in the courtesy van and had us laughing the way to the office. He's such an asset to this company. He wore several hats that day, but it was all good and made us feel totally relaxed and at ease.

While checking off the car, I made sure to inform him I was also taking a video and stills for anything I thought would be an issue on returning as this was not my first rodeo. Went in sorted out the paperwork got the standard insurance.

One thing that caught me off guard was the return with a full tank, as their rates are about x2 that of the service station. So have the tank filled prior to returning.

Returns was easy, got there in time checked off and even got a chance to say thanks to Carl for his wonderful Cayman style hospitality.

I would definitely rent from here again.

Randomly found it by Googling and they had amazing prices compared to the big rental places. Decided to give them a shot based on their reviews. Excellent customer service, very clean, very polite, the experience was very easy and flawless. The only catch is that you are apparently required to have some sort of insurance policy, we opted for the cheapest liability and it still ended up being less then 40% of the competing big rental companies. Will definitely rent again when we come back to the island.

Great customer service. Even with insurance, the rate was the best I could find on the island and the car was clean and in great condition. I will definitely be renting from here next time I'm in Grand Cayman.
