Dr. Shariati grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology and graduated with honors with a degree in Chemistry. He completed his medical degree at Medical College of Georgia followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Carolina. He then completed a three year fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Indiana University. Dr. Shariati is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Urogynecologic Society, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and American Medical Association. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. His main interests are in minimally invasive surgery, bowel dysfunction, and preventative treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary and fecal incontinence.
