About Family Chiropractic Wellness

Starting from about the time I was a toddler, I remember my family would always call me 'Dr. Sal'.  Not really knowing what that meant initially.  I somehow grew up wanting to be a doctor and knew I wanted to help people.  One day, I had a life changing experience, which drove me to where I am today.



In 1984 an automobile accident left me with debilitating headaches, which came often and lasted for what seemed to be a life time.  I saw several doctors and tried many medications.  I would get little relief and the headaches would always come back.  I thought I would have to live the rest of my life with headaches, fatigue and lack of energy.  Until someone asked me if I had ever been to a chiropractor.  I hadn't and fortunately, this person had a referral, so I went.  After the first adjustment, I felt some relief, but by about the 10th adjustment my headaches were almost completely gone and that's when I started to get my energy and my life back!  Chiropractic saved my life!



That was the day I decided to dedicate my life to help change other people's lives through the power of chiropractic!



As a chiropractor serving Tarzana and the Valley communities since 1990, I have  helped people of all ages not only with neck and back problems, but more importantly help them to achieve optimal performance, general health and well being.  Chiropractic helps with many other health issues and not only with musculo-skeletal conditions.



We put great emphasis on the nervous system and the immune system.  Because the nervous system is the master control of all other systems of your body, controlling and coordinating all of  its functions.  Controls all your organs and every cell of your body. Such as the heart beat, breathing, digestion, and even the ability to fight disease.  Because we live our lives through our nervous system.  Everything we have done from the day we were born until today has been through the nervous system.



Negative stress in life, can be chemical, mechanical, or emotional, can cause spinal misalignment and disturbance in nerve function which is called vertebral subluxation.  Similar to tooth decay, subluxations do not cause pain.  Chiropractors are concerned with subluxation because they are a sign that your body/mind are under stress and can not optimally function thus can lead to other health problems.  As a chiropractor I remove these interferences so that the nervous system can function optimally.



I especially love working with kids.



During this growing and developmental time, it is crucial to have a nervous system functioning at its optimal performance.  A healthy nervous system insures that they have a healthy and strong immune system.  Parents who bring their kids in for regular chiropractic care often report less ear infections, less colds, improved digestion and many other issues.  These chiropractic kids have better overall health and miss less days from school.  Because they also live their lives through their nervous system.  It is crucial that they also are free from spinal subluxations, especially while their genetic developmental windows are still open.
