Ich hatte eine sehr Lehrreiche und schöne Zeit. Spezieller Lob geht an die super Lehrerin Ophélie. Sie hat den Unterricht kreativ und umfangreich gestaltet. Ich kann die Schule nur weiterempfehlen!

I have already done a language course before in France, so I have some experiences and can compare the two schools:
- booking process: intricate and lenghty for Alpadia (lots of emails and phone calls, the latter made me kind of furious as I had to pay a lot when I called back; plus: communication with different staff members, person A had no idea what person B had written before)
- school: very very small classrooms; in my class, there were about 11 students, which was way too crowded and made me feel uncomfortable because of Covid (hardly any measures were taken against it and during my stay several people were ill (only a cold or Covid?) and no face mask was worn; the location of the school is great because the lake and many different restaurants and shops are nearby
- teachers: there were good and rather bad ones; the ones I had were really friendly and helpful, but one in particular was pretty insecure, nervous and sometimes had a hard time explaining things; I didn't like the standard course too much and preferred my other courses
- other aspects: some of the worksheets and online games that we played in class had spelling or grammar mistakes which should not happen given the fact that students participate in that course to learn "perfect" French; the teaching methods were great, but started to become repetitive in the standard course in the second week; in my case, changing courses was not possible, which is sad given the fact that you pay lots of money for these courses; in terms of the schedule you had better be prepared to have lessons in the evening when the school is busy.
In a nutshell, the language course definitely helped me to improve my French skills, but I would not recommend Alpadia.

Dear student, We are delighted to see that you made progress during your stay with us and that you enjoyed most of the courses and teachers as well as our method. We are sorry though that your stay was not ideal in a few other ways. As we are always trying to improve, could you get in touch with us and tell us your name and when you studied in our school? This would help us a lot to clarify the situation and see what we have done wrong and rectify. Here is what we can tell you in the meantime. We have always complied very thoroughly with sanitary restrictions and measures of federal and canton authorities. Fortunately, the situation allowed the government to suspend all the previous recommendations. Nevertheless, would symptoms appear to one of our students, we would test the student at school. If positive, we would guide them to the closest test center for PCR test. Would the positive test be confirmed, then all the students in contact with the infected student would be tested, first at school and then in a center. This is just part of the processes we established. As our dedication goes to welcoming students from all over the world, teach them french but also host them in host families, residences, apartments, you can imagine that we are now used to dealing with this kind of situation. We provide face masks, gel for the hands, we keep opening the windows between courses or even during the courses if possible... If you came recently, we can now welcome 12 students in our biggest rooms. Of course, as you seem to have been with us during the high season, you saw that there is quite a lot of students who need French for their studies of their professional carrier, but we make sure not to exceed the limit of student authorized. We hope that you had a good time that you enjoyed the lake, the mountain and made new friends while learning french with us. Regarding your struggles with the admission department, we would also need you to provide details so we can state if the issue comes from our staff or the agency you booked your stay with. We wish you the best.

Ich habe in Montreux einen Vorbereitungskurs für das Sprachdiplom eDFP besucht. Die Lehrer waren sehr nett und haben uns sehr gute Tips gegeben. Auch die Unterkunft war super und ich bin immer noch in Kontakt mit meiner Gastfamilie. Der Aufenthalt hat mich auf jeden Fall sehr geholfen, die Prüfung zu bestehen und ich kann die Schule nur weiter empfehlen! Danke Alpadia

sehr familiäre Schule mit tollen Lehrer. Wenig Platz um sich drinnen zu verweilen, was im Sommer jedoch keine Rolle spielt, da der See sehr nah liegt.
