About Don C Lewis O.D., Ph D and Associates

Dr Don C. Lewis  O.D., Ph D. was born in Clarksville Tennessee and raised in the neighboring town of Erin, TN. He attended Austin Peay State University graduating as Valedictorian, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He has actively participated in many local civic and governmental organizations. As well as serving as a county commissioner (1978 through present) he has been involved in the Rotary Club, the Jaycees, the Selective Service Board for Tennessee and numerous professional organizations. Dr Lewis is Chief Optometrist for our group.

Professional Schooling:
Dr Lewis attended the Southern College of Optometry, gaining his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1975. In addition to his Optometry degree Dr Lewis holds a Doctorate in Epidemiology from East Tennessee State University as well as a Masters in Public Health.

Work History:
Dr Lewis has been perpetually in practice since his graduation in 1975. He has proudly practiced optometry with LensCrafters since1997. Doctor Lewis is owning doctor of two optometric practices with LensCrafters in Clarksville TN and Nashville TN.

Humanitarian Participation:
Dr Lewis is a participating volunteer Doctor in the Luxottica foundation (LensCrafters parent company) OneSight Organization, donating in excess of 300 free exams and optometric treatments a year between his two practices to those within the local community in need. His office has participated in Global OneSight Clinics and have helped in excess of 40,000 people in need.  He has been a member of the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church, Volunteers in Mission Team, as an Optometrist, to various medical mission sites in the Caribbean and South America as well as a medical team member to St. Vincent in the Eastern Antilles Islands in 1981, 1982, and 1983.
