LOVE THIS PLACE

I moved pretty recently and the staff is amazing and very responsive to all my millions of questions. The unit was clean upon move in and I haven't had any issues since. I put in a maintenance request that was handled the next day and my neighbors are nice & considerate. There's a train right next to it and hospital, but you can't hear the ambulances or train from inside. Highly recommend if you're looking to be in a convenient location downtown without necessarily feeling like you're in the middle of the city.

I've lived in many apartment complexes and this is by far the worst one. Commercial tenants are moving into the first floor (below the residents) and construction has been ongoing for the better part of the year. I've just been told by management that it will continue well into 2022. The noise is very loud and piercing. It starts before 8am and lasts throughout the day. It's impossible to live here. There's already been a mass exodus of residents and I expect that to continue.

I cannot currently recommend that anyone live here with the construction going on in the office spaces directly below the lofts. Construction has been going on for about a year and many residents have moved out because of it. The drilling is so incredibly loud that it often sounds like it's happening in your apartment rather than below it and sometimes shakes the floor and furniture. Sometimes so loud that I have to shout so my partner can hear me when he's sitting right next to me. Drilling often begins before 8am and makes it impossible to sleep. Previously, the construction noise was limited to weekdays, but this month the drilling has continued on the weekends so there's no respite from it. The construction noise has been especially difficult for night shift nurses who have to sleep during the day. Connor, the manager, has been very responsive, sympathetic, and helpful in the limited capacity in which he is able to do so. However, Justin, the regional manager, has been completely unresponsive. We understand that the construction has to happen and that there are deadlines and pressure. We just want reasonable restrictions on the construction so that the residents can have some quality of life while paying for luxury apartments. I would highly recommend that you do not move in until all of the office spaces below have been completely built out and occupied.

I relocated to Birmingham back in the summer and cannot say enough great things about living here at the Denham Building! For a renovated industrial building, it gives off a very chic and high-end vibe. I love my unit, all the amenities offered, and the scenic views of downtown Birmingham right from my livingroom. In addition, the front office (Connor) made my move/transition seamless and have continued to be top notch during my stay here at the Denham Building.

I love living at Denham! The lofts are beautiful and the amenities are great. There's also a nice community feel here and the location is more than ideal. It's close to the interstate, Railroad Park, Regions Field & Monday Night Brewing is right next door. Overall would highly recommend!

Absolutely LOVE the Denham! I just relocated to Birmingham about 2 months ago and feel more at home at the Denham than anywhere I lived the last few years. Dylan, the property manager is the BEST and is always there to help out when needing anything. Also, the apartments are awesome as well. For an industrial look it still feels really comfortable and spacious!

What was supposed to be a new home and fresh beginning as newlyweds turned into the most unprofessional experience ever. My husband and I moved into this old, renovated building with high hopes, due to the promising tour we received a few months prior. However, within 2 weeks of living there, all 3 of our windows started leaking. And when I say leaking, I mean puddles of water formed on our floor every time it rained and water continuously poured in for days after. One of us always had to be there to move our furniture out of the way. We reached out to management as soon as it initially happened and got no response for our service request. We continued to put in service orders and contact the managers of the building; again without ever receiving a reply. Very unprofessional. Next, our kitchen, laundry room, hallway, and bedroom began leaking. (pictured is our laundry room that I woke up to one morning & the continuous leak that was always in our hallway down to the yellowing baseboards with water damage)To even get a response to our service orders, we had to pay a lawyer to mail a letter to Arlington Properties discussing the lack of communication and reasonable time to address the issue. Getting that letter sent was the only reason we got our first response. One of the managers (Chris) came in to "look" at our windows and told me the reason they were leaking was due to "THE DIRECTION OF THE RAIN." Are you kidding me? Long story short, they NEVER formally addressed our leaking issues or made any steps to fixing it. We were instead left with yellowing baseboards due to water damage, ballooning walls where sheetrock was wet above our kitchen cabinets, and stuffing towels in our window sills to avoid furniture ruining. I met 3 other residents while working out in the gym who experienced similar leaking problems and also expressed no one would respond to their service requests. I think they realized they were unable to properly fix the leaking roof and voided our lease, allowing us to only have had to suffer living there for 4 months. In addition to the endless leaking, the place sounds like a garage. All the bedrooms back up to the hallway which echoes of barking dogs. Upon move out, I gave this place a 1 star review without this long explanation. Catherine (another arlington manager) had the audacity to email my husband and I and asked us to TAKE DOWN OUR 1 STAR REVIEW.....so rather than taking it down, I chose to explain why I gave them 1 star. This place only cares about how they look online and takes 0 efforts to fix problems for residents. Do not waste your money on this overpriced place! I know they will comment back with some excuse, but take it from someone who experienced it. Btw, many of the 5 star reviews on here are from the property managers :)

Hi Laura Ellen, We were excited to have you and your husband as residents and have you move into a brand new apartment. After notification of the leak, our team worked diligently to fix the concern. As discussed, the building's historic nature and the roof style made tracking the leaks very difficult. The concern has been resolved. We were saddened this was your and your husband's experience and lost you both as residents a year ago. We take pride in our resident's experience and the service we provide. Please contact us if you would like to discuss further. Thank you.
