I believe in creating a safe and supportive environment where couples, children, families and adults feel comfortable talking about their struggles and concerns.

I specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples which is based on solid research and clinical practice. The focus is to help couples identify negative cycles so they can move away from feeling angry and resentful to feeling emotionally safe, trusting and happy.

I also specialize in Child Play Therapy. This approach is based on the idea that children use play to express their thoughts and feelings just as adults use language. Play therapy offers your child the opportunity to "play out" thoughts, feelings, hurts and worries in a safe and nurturing environment as well as to learn new coping skills, develop problem solving skills, decrease challenging behaviors and promote self-confidence.

When working with older children and adolescents, I focus on integrating their strengths and interests (music, art, books) into the therapy as a way to connect and to support the therapy process. I believe that parents/caregivers are a vital part of the therapy process and meet regularly with children and their families.
