The lobby and public areas are all updated, but not the rooms. The rooms are very old - our tub was so worn it looked dirty - a disgrace to the Marriott brand. Also, we had no TV for a day and 1/2, and no water for several hours one day (and we were trying to get ready for a wedding). They said the water would be off for 2 hours starting at noon, but it was off until a little after 2:30. They said they will comp us for a night but they obviously need to update their infrastructure. We would not stay here again.

Clean and friendly hotel. They have a shuttle that takes you to historic Charleston which is a nice perk.

The hotel is old and not kept very clean. Since Covid they have instituted cost cutting measures to not clean rooms regularly. Despite requesting a cleaning, they did not clean our room until I complained and then they cleaned it the next day. I also didn't see cleaning people on our floor at all during the stay, which I'm sure they will use Covid as an excuse for. They also charge $8/day for parking which should quite frankly be included in the room rate or part of their "resort fee" (it is not much of a resort). Stay elsewhere as the standards here have gone down and cost cutting is a priority.
