We had a wonderful week here at Carolina pines! Want to give a special shout out to Katie at guest check in !
There's nothing better than a happy smiling person who cares about questions and concerns, makes all the difference in the world.
I would also like to mention a wonderful young man named Cameron, great energy and friendly to all who interacted with him .
Thank you to all the staff. We will return in april!

Resort is an understatement! This place is completely out of place when you come up on it from the highway. Nothing, nothing then bam! Full service resort. Staff was friendly from the get go.

Out sites were next to the putt putt course. It didn't bother us (or our 8 month old) too much. The music would start pretty early but I believe it's outside of their quiet hours so no problem there. It was really nice having the waterfall to listen to while we were outside.

Facilities were very nice. We got pizza from the palmetto grill. It was very good. Outdoor seating was plenty and we never felt too close to any other visitors.

The main restaurant seemed like it would be very good. They weren't offering takeout when we stayed which was a little bit of a bummer but gives us something to look forward to next time.

The general store had a good mix of c-store type stuff with some rv gear available as well.

Now to the sites.

We stayed in a concrete pad site. Not 100% level but it didn't take much so that was great. The site was long enough to be able to hook up and not bother anyone. I could have left my truck and trailer hooked up and not been in anyone's way. Plenty of patio room and grassy areas for each site. The landscaping was very nice and kept up.The sewer hookups were threaded which was such a nice touch. I don't know why but I just like knowing for a fact that the sewer hose connection won't come out if the wind blows it. Water pressure was great. We had a couple of times the power went out for a moment but came back on almost immediately. Not sure if maintenance was going on. It happened 3 times but didn't hinder our stay at all. The trash pickup is a really nice touch too. They have dumpsters but would always come around before 11 to take your garbage placed at the end of the site.

Also dog friendly with no breed restrictions. They have (what should be universal) policies for aggressive dogs based on their actions and not the breed specifically.

All in all I can say we'll be back. Probably with friends and family.

CAMPER BEWARE:

I waited until I stayed here twice before writing this review.

You’ll notice the campground responding to various reviews stating they will get better. I promise you will not see any improvement, the same complaints for months and nothing changes. I’m sure you’ll see a similar response here, it is simply copied and pasted and complaints are not reviews at all.

This campground works hard to have a positive outward image. But, once you get here, you’ll notice one customer service failure after another.

1. Security. Parking is tight when the campground is full. I was forced to park on a sandy area to access a laundry facility. A security guard approached me and very rudely told me I’m not allowed to park on the “grass”. Even those his vehicle was parked on the actual grass. Having read the rules, I knew this was not listed on their website at the time. He continued to rudely grief me until I was forced to go elsewhere. Meanwhile, this rule is selectively enforced throughout the park.

2. Maintenance. A maintenance person was cleaning the mini golf course while we were on it. We watched a group of adults pass through where he was cleaning without any issues. When we attempted to play through, the person told us to leave and asked if him cleaning wasn’t obvious enough that the area was closed. I witnessed this person continued to be verbally aggressive to staff and other guests throughout the week.

3. WiFi. Complete trash. Staff gives various excuses and eventually gives you a customer service phone number to a company who equally does not care.

4. Arcade. Ridiculously over priced

5. Welcome center staff. When I booked my second trip (before I even came for the first) the booking representative told me it was a special discount weekend and to come to the welcome desk when I checked in to receive a discount. She assured me there wasn’t any issues and that’s one of the reasons I I kept this vacation with the ongoing inflation. When I arrived at the welcome desk I was told that the terms that were given to me during booking had changed and that none of what I was promised would be honored. Once more, the representative was cold hearted.

All of this has shown me that the company only cares about profit margins and could care less about guest experience.

We won’t be coming back. My wife put it best… the price they charge is not worth the hassle.

Edit to respond to business reply… 100% the correct place, look at the jumping pillow area and you will see where people park. There is no grass and only sand. This was reported to your assistant GM and head of security.
