Services Burials At Sea USA Offers

We offer two different types of committal services which can be tailored to your unique situation.

Attended Ceremony
Our captains can accommodate up to six passengers for a committal service, which includes having a member of the clergy present, if you choose. The Captain will sail to the destination and oversee the committal ceremony. The Captain will provide three roses (or other flower of your choosing) to be laid in the water, and will take photos if you desire.

Captain-Only Ceremony
Our captains are trained to carry-out a committal service without additional passengers, if you choose not to attend. The Captain will perform the ceremony with the same dignity and respect you would find at an attended service, and will lay flowers in the water and can provide photos if you wish.

Ceremony Certificate
Regardless of the service you select, the Captain will provide a certificate that includes the place of the service (latitude and longitude), time and date. The certificate will be signed by the US Coast Guard licensed Captain, and certified by a member of the Burials at Sea USA staff. It will be mailed to you in a timely manner, once the ceremony is complete.
