My Experience with Buerkle

I began my car shopping journey in mid-February and chose Buerkle because I wanted to avoid long wait times. I got pre-qualified and completed all the necessary steps in advance.

On a Saturday, I visited the dealership, test-drove a vehicle, and ultimately decided to upgrade from a civic to an Accord.

Here’s how the process unfolded:
• The dealership did not have my car in stock but assured me it would arrive by Monday. Since I hadn’t originally planned on purchasing an Accord, I was willing to wait for the color that I wanted.
• I upgraded to leather seats, and the sales representative told me my car would be ready by Tuesday. However, it was not.
• I was then informed it would take an additional week (I was reimbursed for extra gas expenses), and the car was finally ready that Saturday.

Throughout this process, I was repeatedly over-promised. While the sales manager made an effort to rectify the situation, the overall experience fell short. I take responsibility for not catching some of these issues sooner, but the number of miscommunications made the process unnecessarily stressful and I was extremely busy with work, I should have slowed down and asked more questions.

I would never again travel nearly two hours to purchase a car due to the multiple setbacks I encountered. The VIN number changed multiple times on the financing paperwork, the car was incorrectly listed on the dealership’s website as a different color, and I had no way to verify if I was receiving the correct vehicle.

Ultimately, the process was disorganized and frustrating.

Additionally, once my car was finally ready with the leather upgrade, another salesperson unknowingly attempted to sell it to my boyfriend and friend—while I was there to pick it up.

My advice to future buyers: Always ensure everything is in writing, verify that your salesperson follows through on their promises, and hold them accountable throughout the process.

My husband and I stopped in starting to look for a new car and walked out the door a couple hours later having bought one. Dave Oberg was our salesperson and he was wonderful to work with. We loved his "no pressure" approach and he was very knowledgeable in answering any questions we had. When we picked our new vehicle up, the final purchasing steps also went very smoothly...paperwork (thank you, Adam), explanation of the main features- bells and whistles if you may- and again, always on top of answering questions we had. Dave and Adam had wonderful personalities. Buerkle Honda is very fortunate to have both of them! CHEERS to having purchased our 4th Honda CRV, a hybrid this time.
