Bliss Farm Inn

I really struggle to find enough superlatives to describe my stay at Bliss Farm Inn. Propriertors Mary and Dave left no detail overlooked and clearly spent time and energy focused on enhancing both the history of the farm and quality of guests' stay. The house is steeped in fantastic history but tastefully updated to just about any convenience you'd want. Comfortable beds, high quality (and quantity) of amenities, beautiful decor, scrumptious food, and a clear service-driven mentality all come included. Beyond the house, I enjoyed meeting the chickens, the adorable farm dog, and personalized recommendations of how to enjoy my stay in Maine. I came from the mid-Atlantic but will find excuses to come back several times a year. I'd give six stars if I could.

TLDR: One of the nicest places I've ever stayed in my life. Worth a hundred star rating!

From the moment we arrived, Mary hurrying down from closing up the chicken coop, we were met with warmth, generosity, and true exuberance from our hosts. In every interaction, you could feel Mary's genuine excitement and pleasure to have you in her lodge. You will want for nothing: the beds are cozy and comfortable, the bathrooms stocked to the gills with toiletries (even mending kits!), the entire place is spotlessly clean. There are snacks and beverages hidden in every corner, including sherry in the library, soda and beer in the mini fridges, jams from the farm next door, homemade baked goods, the list is endless! Mary also made a quiche in the morning (in addition to a full continental spread) that was absolutely delicious. The inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas, including a real tree!

Dave, Mary's husband, served us our breakfast in the morning and was just as charming and attentive as our hostess. He brought us out to meet the chickens and turkeys, which was a treat!

I cannot say enough how completely cared for I felt in our short stay at the inn, and my only regret was that we didn't stay longer. While talking to Mary, I mentioned perhaps planning a girls trip up here in the future, and Mary's eyes lit up as she immediately started brainstorming a high tea for us! I cannot wait to return to Bliss Farm Inn and to experience their overwhelming hospitality for years to come.

We had the best time at Bliss Farm Inn! We loved the decorations, the snacks, and our stay in the Royalsborough room. I think our favorite part was meeting the chickens, turkeys, and Callie the farm dog! Mary and Dave are so welcoming and friendly and their daughter was a sweetheart. Hope to stay here again when we visit the Freeport area!

Bliss Farm Inn was everything my partner and I could have hoped for and more. Mary and Dave are such kind, wonderful people and excellent, attentive hosts. The entire property is immaculate and full of rustic charm - we especially loved meeting Callie, the farm dog, and the resident flock of chickens and turkeys. I can't say enough good things about this place and have already booked my next stay!

a beautifully restored bed and breakfast, full of history. Charming sunny rooms to enjoy an amazing breakfast spread, close to Freeport but far enough out to relax. Wonderful innkeepers! We will be staying again as we live in northern Maine and it is a perfect spot to stay when in the Portland area.

We had the most delightful weekend at this beautiful inn. New owners Mary and Dave are wonderful hosts, incredibly kind and welcoming, the food was beyond amazing, (not only the breakfasts which are worth the stay alone!) but to come back to home-baked snacks & hot drinks after long days exploring the area was such a treat. It was clean and comfortable and so welcoming. Our room was lovely, the bed so comfy, it was fun to learn a bit of the history of the inn in it too. We so enjoyed playing cribbage with a glass of wine by the fire, and meeting their chickens! I am so happy we found Bliss Farm Inn! We'll definitely go back.

My husband and I drove up to Maine to meet our son's new fiancee's parents for dinner. Too far to do the trip in one day. So we decided to do an overnight. If only we had known how wonderful this old farm inn was, we would have spent 2 nights. The house is absolutely gorgeous, and Mary and her husband, Dave, are the sweetest, most eager to please hosts we ever encountered! They were eager to share stories about the inn, they took us to visit the hen coop where we collected the eggs of the day, and Mary made the best blueberry French toast with a blueberry reduction sauce ever!! Really, don't think twice about it and go!! You won't be disappointed!!

We have yet to stay at this fabulous inn, however, Mary is an absolute wonderful lady! We had the pleasure of working on this project and it was truly inspiring to see how she turned painted rooms into luxury and comfort!

The Bliss Farm Inn went above and beyond my expectations. It was the most well-stocked, clean, and beautiful B&Bs I have ever stayed.
