Spoke with him over the phone and shared a email said he'd get back with me. Never replied? Though this rating isn't a reflection of his work it could be 5* worthy???????

I called in on 1/27/20 to schedule an appointment for an estimate for a job I need completed. Pete came out the very next day at the time scheduled which was perfect, he advised that I would receive my estimate via email within a day or 2. Since I never received the estimate I called in on 2/7, office rep stated that he see's contract but no estimate and owner was on vacation and no eta. As of today 2/14, I still have no estimate. Very disappointing, as I read wonderful reviews and wanted to give them a try.

I found Pete very easy to work with and knowledgeable. His crew was professional, experienced and efficient. I would highly recommend Bergen's Contracting and Repair!!

Our exterior trim and Chinese chippendale porch railings had deteriorated from weathering and inferior workmanship of other contractors. We held Bergen to a very high standard and they exceeded it! The restoration was flawless because of very skilled carpenters, the appropriate selection of materials and a crew who held the schedule. As for quality control, Pete Bergen holds daily work progress meetings with his team before they come to the house. Decisions are made in real time using quick calls to review photos and give feedback. I think the company is a hidden gem in South Charlotte.

Pete and the team did a great job. We had them do both internal and external carpentry and painting work. Very professional. Completely satisified.

Posted an original review 06/10/19 but revising it today with a five-star. Initially had trouble contacting Bergen's Contracting & Repair but was able to get that all sorted out as Pete reached out to me on the 10th & we setup an appointment for Friday 06/14/19. So glad to have heard back from him because he really knows his stuff. He called when he was about 30 minutes out to advise on his way. Went over in detail the items I was requesting a quote on: replace broken boards on back fence, replace a few sections of damaged vinyl siding, discussed leak in front windows first floor, options to replace or repair damaged aluminum porch column base wrap. We discussed a few other concerns I had (issue with side gate and some other minor items) and he was able to explain everything to me in detail. I had concern how the porch column wraps would be repaired or replaced and he was able to break down for me how he best thought it would need be done. Very pleased with the level of knowledge from Pete and the time he took with me reviewing everything at my home. He advised it would be about 2 business days for the estimate which I expect to have by tomorrow. Just from the time he spent here I feel I'll be in extremely capable hands. Pete is definitely an expert in his work and a great choice to contact.

This review isn't about the quality of their work. I can't attest to that. I'm giving them a 1 star rating because I called them three separate times over about a 10 day period to request an estimate on some jobs at my house. No one ever called me back. The company posted a response and requested I call them again. I didn't need the work done anymore, but several months later (April 2019) I decided to give them another chance for some additional work I needed done. Same result. I left a message and no one returned my call. Terrible customer service.

I'm very satisfied with Pete's work. This was the second time I used his great team. The crew was courteous and was very careful to make sure my dog and cat didn't sneak out as they walked in and out. The replaced two bathroom windows. One of the bathroom windows was leaking from a defect in the original construction. The old plywood around the window needed to be replaced. They checked everywhere they saw mold or damage from the 18 year leak. Yes 18 years. The builders did several repairs that never lasted more than a couple years.

Great clean up and Peter responded to my questions and concerns with great patients. I also want to put a plug in for Carolina Home Transformers, LLC. Jerry put the final touch on the repairs by installing a new gutter and downspout. He even did a quick repair to my fence door hinge. He noticed it and just offered to do it free. Amazing service.
