Add ReviewWe are old people and needed packing and unpacking, we asked to mark boxes so we could find things we need. They marked but mixed everything so badly that with no help unpacking we have to unpack every thing to find even a plate to eat onReport
Three sets of dishes and all mixed in multiple boxes.
The ladies were nice hard workers garnering a very good tip but little did we know we would have three weeks of unpacking just to find the necessities to exist in our new home. We are 80 and 90 years old. This was no good experience for us.
best of best..professional, clean, friendly.thank you guysReport
Hired Austin Van to move from my home in San Marcos to New Braunfels. The guys were so respectful and very efficient. It was unreal how much of my things they fit in a single trailer load. Would defiantly use again!Report
The team of 3 men were on time and called 15 minutes ahead to make sure we were home. Overall their system of unpacking containers and moving boxes into our apartment was efficient and made accounting for and sorting through our household goods a breeze. Their communication with eachother as well as with us was great, not to mention all the team members were very polite, friendly and seemed to enjoy their work. Everyone wore masks for the duration of our unpacking which was greatly appreciated. The team was easy to work with and very knowelgable about giving us advice as to what would fit where and possible layouts for our bigger pieces of furniture in our downsized apartment. They cleaned up after themselves throughout the process of the move and left no mess behind (greatly appreciated). At the end of the move the leader explained all of the paperwork and signatures to make sure we understood what we were signing as well as the claims process.Report
Only downside to this company would be their receptionists on the phone, as they seemed very busy and unorganized whenever we asked for updates on the nearest move-in appointments(somewhat understandable during this hectic time of year).
Overall a great experience and would definitly use them again.
First off, if someone is paying you to move stuff and you know this is your job, then do the least thing and actually do your job. I was assigned Austin Van and Storage by my company so I didn't have a choice but to be their customer, when the movers arrived to deliver my household goods, one of the movers asked me "I don't want to be mean but can you move some of your boxes up yourself?", I asked him "isn't this your job to move the stuff since you are a moving company?" and he answered "yea it's our job but it's you who's moving". I didn't understand what he meant and what he entails, did he mean that yea it's their job, but since these are my stuff so I need to move them myself? While they are still being paid to literally move stuff? I have the name of this employee who said this if your company wants to contact me for further details.Report
After proceeding to take accountabilities of my boxed items, they were not professional when it comes to reassembling my TV. Per the moving contract and moving agent's rules, the movers are supposed to reassemble anything that were disassembled during packing. So when I asked the movers to reassemble my TV, both of them were so fast to push of the responsibilities and kept on saying "that ain't our job". I know clear and well that the moving agent told me to not let the movers leave until they reassemble the furniture that were disassembled during packing, so I insisted to let them reassemble my TV, but they did not know how to do so, and kept on pushing the responsibilities off of each other. Until one mover finally got the chance to reassemble and had to ask me how to do it, they did not reassemble until they borrowed my tools and ask me how to reassemble to do it.
And these were not the worst things that happened, they mistook one box of my shoes as trash and removed it from my living room, and I didn't realize it until they are gone, and I noticed that a whole medium sized box of shoes was gone. I remembered that I told one mover to place this box of shoes in the living room, I didn't let them unpack it because I can do it myself, and when they remove empty boxes they must've think this box was trash and removed it with them.
Overall, I don't think your company deserve even one star, from the attitude of the employee, to the unprofessionalism displayed throughout the entire unpacking process, and their incompetency displayed during reassembling, and just the overall unwillingness to do their most basic jobs, showed clear that either your company needs to do much more trainings with your employees, or your company need to do some talent management and rehire some competent workers who actually are willing to do their jobs.

Absolutely no care when packing us out - two women stormed through our possessions, throwing anything to everything in a box - randomly labeling them. (For instance, our silverware was in a box labeled "linens") Push back on your company if they hire this organization to begin your move. Simply - do not choose Austin Van and Storage.Report
Austin Van & Storage was the moving company contracted by my company to pack my household goods. I would never recommend these guys if you have a choice in selecting a moving company .Report
This company sent over two guys to pack and move our entire house over the course of one day. Since this was a large task for two people, they crew ended up cutting corners leading to poor packing of items and subsequent damage when receiving our items at time of delivery. The inventory sheet filled out by these guys was vague making it impossible to submit a claim for damage items. Also, the dispatchers kept calling the crew to tell them to hurry up so they could go to the next job.
What upsets me the most is one of their workers stole three of my wife's watches. We discovered this two months later when our household goods arrived. I know the worker from Austin Van & Storage stole the watches since the worker never documented the watches on inventory sheet and items that would've been packed with the watches arrived.
My wife and I were novices to the moving process and these people took advantage of this fact. It is partly our fault for not hovering over the crew and micromanaging the process but we tried to treat the crew as the professionals they claimed to be. Make sure that you watch these guys like hawks and have them write everything contained in the box on the inventory sheet.
