Austin Family Orthodontics

If i could give Dr. Farr a 0 I would. I was in this morning to pick up my retainers. I want to begin by saying none of us are perfect and we all have bad days. But what a normal person does is take a mental health day off which is exactly what , Dr. Farr should have done today. The crass nature in which she treated me, a paid in full customer, was extremely deplorable and reprehensible.
My retainer had been broken for a year and I was only replacing it because that is what I was told to do, replace your retainers every 2 to 3 years. She proceeded to very rudely tell me "it's plastic, it breaks" I didn't need the dichotomy of what plastic is and the fact that it breaks. Then you had to reiterate it 3 times.
You are very lucky I have tact, because the wrong person would have truly let you and the whole office know how horrible you treat your patients. I may just be one customer to you, but if you keep treating your patients like this I can promise you will not be successful. You never looked at me, you were rude for no reason at all, she never asked what my issue was. I didn't have an issue. I was only trying to replace. Dr. Farr would have known that had she not been so terribly rude. If you don't have a high tolerance for foolishness do NOT go to her. She has never been friendly and always has to add a sprinkle of rude. Personality 0 out of 10.
(sidebar: I started with the original orthodontist and was changed over to her a month before my braces were suppose to come off and she was rude then. I just charged her rudeness to her having a bad day, no- she is just a pure rude person.

Extremally unhappy with this office and staff. Poor co-ordination and very difficult to make appointment and every time braces adjustment was made doesn't go well. Very unpleased and avoid in every possibility.

All three of my children have been patients here. My oldest son’s experience with a previous orthodontist was great. As of 8/21, my two younger children just began their braces journey. We were booked several months prior, to which they cancelled and rescheduled with Dr. Albertson (a newer orthodontist at this practice) because the previous one retired (evidently, abruptly). Inconveniently, we were rescheduled for their fourth day back to school, in which they are both missing out on an entire half day - the appointment I had scheduled months previously was during summer break. Also inconveniently, we had to travel from Liberty Hill to the Austin location, rather than the closer Leander location we typically have appointments at. Even more inconveniently, they only got their top braces today and will need to come back for an entirely separate appointment to get the bottoms put on, resulting in even more missed school time. Being that they are both in athletics, I requested they have both top and bottom put on to avoid unnecessary missed education and athletics participation (not to mention commuting and working around a single mother’s busy schedule), however the orthodontist’s preference superseded the approach that best suited our family. This approach is completely different from my older son’s experience as well as my own experience with braces. Furthermore, from the brief exam portion, Dr. Albertson’s interactions were rigid and dry. Oh, and one of my daughter’s brackets broke within the first 3 days. For a family who has been with Austin Children’s Dentistry and Austin Family Orthodontics for over nine years now, this was an extremely disappointing experience.

So I had an appointment today to get braces. I got a text saying to be there at 9:30 then I got a text saying to be there at 10. I showed up at 10 and 2 people at the front desk tell me I should’ve been there at 9:30. I took the day off work for my appointment. They told me I have to reschedule for another day and cannot see me. My employer requires two weeks heads up for time off like most employers. They said they cannot fit me in today even though they said my appointment with only take an hour. The front desk people didn’t seem to care. I just hope the braces procedure goes better than their scheduling. I think they need to work on their text to scheduling process and their customer service at the front desk. There only seems to be one person that knew what they were doing working at the front desk.

Affordable pricing and amazing staff.

So I just called this place to try and figure a pricing on how much it would be to take off my girlfriends braces off and they told they would have to start the process with them which then I ask the lady that it didn’t make sense because they would still have to take them off and she proceeded by hanging up the phone and just left me there on the phone and when I tried calling back no answer until the fourth call made they answered

My son has been with Austin Family Orthodontics for about 7 months, and we have been very pleased with his treatments. He didn’t want traditional braces so thankfully they offer Invisalign Teen which worked perfectly. The entire process has been pretty smooth. Once my oldest son is out of braces, I will be back with my second oldest son!

The front staff is rude. There are a couple of know-it-all ladies that interrupt you when you ask questions and talk over you. They do not know how to listen. Beware. They would do good changing the ladies who answer the phones too.

Austin Family Orthodontics truly is an amazing practice! The staff is always so nice and inviting! They truly have made the braces experience comforting and fun! 5/5 stars ??

Both my son and I had our braces with Austin Family Ortho. My son went traditional and I went with Invisalign. Dr. Jen is great and staff follows suit! Prices are the best I found and all inclusive.
