Chiropractic Medicine
The word "chiropractic" has derivatives from the Greek; "chiro" meaning "hands" and "practic" meaning "practice" or "concerned with action." It is grounded in the principle that the body can heal itself when the skeletal system is correctly aligned and the nervous system is functioning properly. To achieve this, the chiropractic physicians uses his or her hands or a tool to perform specific manipulations or adjustments of various joints. When these joints of the spine are not moving correctly, imbalances are created which can cause pain in the back, as well as other areas of the body. The correction of joint function through non-invasive manual therapy allows
chiropractic physicians to restore spinal and central nervous system health.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the main forms of treatment in traditional Chinese medicine. It involves the use of needles that are inserted into or a laser that is applied to the body at very specific points. This process is believed to adjust and alter the body's energy flow or "Qi" into healthier patterns. Acupuncture can be used to treat a variety of conditions from pain, infertility, and headaches to disease prevention and promotion of good health.

Biomedical Dry Needling
This form of therapy is used in conjunction with chiropractic medicine and functional rehabilitation to produce great effects. Acupuncture needles are used to stimulate the repair of damaged muscles and surrounding tissues to reduce pain and restore proper function.

Massage Therapy/Myofascial Release
Massage is one of the oldest healing arts and the benefits of massage are vast. Massage therapy or myofascial release techniques are utilized in many physical rehabilitation programs. This therapy can be used as a form of self-directed therapy or as an adjunct to chiropractic therapy under the guidance of your doctor. Myofascial release has also proven beneficial for many chronic conditions, including low back pain, upper back tightness, and arthritis, well as acute conditions including headaches, plantar fascitis, and many others. Myofascial release treatments also helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday living that can lead to disease and illness.

Functional Rehabilitation
Functional rehabilitation is an extension of the traditional elements of physical therapy, the purpose of which is to help patients perform every day movements or specific tasks of their job, sport, or other activities of daily living to their best potential. As well as the traditional elements of physical therapy such as strength and flexibility, functional rehabilitation incorporates agility and proprioceptive and movement training, which enables the patient to participate at pre-injury levels if an injury has occurred while reducing the risk of recurrent injury. If no injury has occurred then various facets including improvement in speed, agility, flexibility, and movements will be the focus.

McKenzie Method/Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy
The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy is a philosophy of active patient involvement and education that is trusted and used by practitioners and patients all over the world. This therapy is utilized at ACCR for lower back and neck problems for this therapy is extremely supported by scientific literature and research for symptom relief, function restoration, and even correction of disc derangements including bulges and herniations.

Kinesio ® Tape

The Kinesio ® Taping Method is designed to facilitate the body's natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body's range of motion. It is used to successfully treat a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and medical conditions. Both Kinesio ® Tape and the training protocol have shown very beneficial results.

IFC/EMS

Inferential Current or IFC (also called Electric Muscle Stimulation or EMS) is used for symptomatic relief and management of post surgical and post traumatic acute and chronic pain. A tingling is felt on the skin, which helps to interfere with the pain signals an injured area sends to the brain. This is usually used in the acute phase of an injury or trauma.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound for therapy is different than the ultrasound used to see pictures of an unborn baby. Ultrasound to help decrease pain, increase blood flow, or to relax tightened tissues uses sound waves to generate heat within a body part. Many times, the patient does not feel anything when the ultrasound is applied, but the technique is aimed at penetrating deep to the affected tissues to facilitate the healing process.

Dietary Supplementation
Due to poor diet and the depletion of many vital nutrients naturally found in the soil used to grow our produce, many Americans today do not obtain many of the important vitamins and minerals necessary to maintain a healthy body. Therefore, medical grade vitamins and supplements can help correct any deficiencies as well as assist in the treatment of many common conditions such as IBS, diabetes, high cholesterol, joint conditions, immune conditions, as well as women's and men's health issues.

Nutritional Counseling
Whether you need help with weight loss, increasing muscle mass, regulating diabetes, prevention of heart disease, cholesterol reduction, assistance in meal planning due to food allergies, migraines, increasing energy, or even pain reduction, nutritional counseling is a valuable tool for every patient.

Energy Work
Aura is a term in common vernacular that refers to the individual energy signature given off by a person or object, also known as an Energy Body. Each person has several vortexes of energy comprising their Energy Body positioned throughout their physical selves (which are material manifestations of our Energy Bodies). These vortexes are referred to as chakras. Traumatic or emotionally trying experiences can create blockages in these energy centers that impede the natural flow of this universal life force energy. There are many different modalities of energy healing available to us nowadays, the most common of which are acupuncture and Reiki. Energy work seeks to restore balance to the various chakras and thereby allow an individual to begin healing his or herself from the inside outwards.
