Add ReviewBait and Switch Not Nice When my computer failed to boot up, I took it to A+Shacklette’s Computer Repair for evaluation. He called me back and told me the hard drive was shot and needed to be replaced. He quoted a price of $195, and I gave him authorization to do the job.Report
Here’s what I got for my $195:
• He replaced my 2,000 GB drive with a 240 GB drive that you can buy at Amazon for $16.99.
• The replacement drive was extremely small and would hold less than a third of the data that I had on a back-up.There would be no room for the programs I use.
• He installed 2 spyware programs, which gave him access to my computer without my knowledge, and never asked for my permission first.
• There were numerous other unrequested programs on this “NEW” drive as well as handwriting in black marker on the case.
• I believe he sold me a USED drive that was way too small for my needs, and now he won’t refund my payment.
