Recap of the SES NY Charity Party sponsored by Best of the Web

"BOTW and IMNY Do It Again!"

On Tuesday March 18, 2008 Best of the Web and the Internet Marketers of NY joined forces once again to bring the search community together for a night of networking and fundraising. Prior to the event, users selected the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (advocated by Marty Weintraub) as the receiving charity, and through our concerted efforts, we were able to raise an astounding $16,494. Almost 200 attendees donated $40 to the cause, and an exciting raffle drew additional donations.

“This one is going to be hard to beat,” said BOTW President Greg Hartnett. “We have done a couple of charity fundraisers in the past, and we’ve learned a few things along the way. Each one of these events proves even more successful than the last, and we’re looking forward to building upon these successes for future events.” BOTW CEO, Brian Prince added, “Quite frankly what we do is the easy part. The success of these events relies on the participation of the search community, and they continue to step up in a big way.”

We’d like to thank all who participated to make this event a huge success, with a very special thanks to Danny Sullivan for supporting the event and being a particularly good sport, as well as SMX and Search Engine Strategies for donating full conferences passes for upcoming search marketing events. We also want to give a shout out to those who went above and beyond the call of duty to truly make this a memorable night:
