Rodeo is a sporting event that came to being based on the skills demanded from working vaqueros of Spain and cowboys of western United States, western Canada, and northern Mexico. At present, rodeo involves horses or other livestock that test the skills and speed of cowboy or cowgirl athlete participants. The modern day professional rodeo includes tie-down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, bull riding, and barrel racing.
