The Irish Bog Pony, a native breed of Ireland, almost died out until it was saved by the tireless efforts of John Mulvihill, of Co. Kerry. With a head resembling an Arabian's, and a body type similar to a Morgan, the pony stands between 10 and 12 hands high.
