Muhyi id-Din ibn 'Arabi was born in Andalusia in 1165 and died in Damascus in 1240CE. He was an Arab Sufi mystic and philosopher, whose prolific writings had a deep impact particularly within Sufi traditions, but also in the wider Islamic world and beyond.
