Category Description:

Followers of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) who claimed to be a divine reformer, Messiah, and Mahdi. The group divided over differing interpretations of their founder, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believing him to be a prophet, and the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement believing that he was only a religious reformer.
Followers of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad consider themselves Muslim; however, Sunni and Shia regard them as heretics and non-Muslims, and refer to them as "Qadiani".
Ahmadis have faced persecution on religious grounds in Pakistan.
