Ruth, the Moabite loyal daughter-in-law of Naomi, goes with her to Naomi's hometown of Bethlehem. In order to feed herself and her mother-in-law, she gleans the fields of a man named Boaz. Boaz ends up marrying her and they have a son, Obed, who becomes the grandfather of David.
