Leah was the eldest daughter of Laban, sister of Rachel, and first wife of Jacob. She participated with her father in the deception of Jacob which caused him to marry her instead of her sister, Rachel. She mothered six of the Twelve Tribes, Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah. Much later, she bore Isaacar, Zebulon, and Dinah. It is largely through her that God fulfills his covenant with Abraham.
