Jeremiah, the author of the Book of Jeremiah and the Book of Lamentations, was the prophet to whom God said, "You will go to them; but for their part, they will not listen to you." His prophecies were dire, and they included the the prediction that Nebuchadnezzar II would besiege Jerusalem.
