Jacob was the son of Isaac and the grandson of Abraham. He is also called Israel. He tricked his twin brother, Esau, out of his birthright as well as his father's blessing and went on to have twelve sons with his wives, Leah and Rachel, as well as his concubines, Bilhah and Zilpah. Each of his sons led one of the Tribes of Israel.
