Philemon was the person to whom Paul's Letter to Philemon was written. Philemon had a slave named Onesimus who ran away and apparently took some things of value which belonged to Philemon. Onesimus then somehow ran into the imprisoned Paul, who converted him. In the letter, Paul, who had converted Philemon as well, attempts to reconcile the two. In the end, Onesimus goes back to Philemon who accepted Onesimus as a brother and ultimately freed him of his slavery.
