Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus, lived in Bethany. While her sister Martha was a worker, cooking and preparing things for guests, Mary sat at the feet of Jesus listening to his teachings. Just before He was crucified, she anointed His feet, much to the chagrin of Judas.
