Category Description:

Ananias was one of the Seventy Disciples from Luke 10. It was he whom the Lord called upon to go to Straight Street to lay hands on Saul of Tarsus (the apostle Paul) after God struck him blind. Despite his fear of Paul, he did what God asked him to do. Tradition has it that Ananias preached the Gospel in Damascus for some time after the healing, and then went to Eleutheropolis to preach, where he was martyred.
