The Book of Obadiah contains only one chapter, consisting of 21 verses. It was written by the minor prophet Obadiah, whose name means "servant and worshiper of Jehovah." It was written between the 8th and 9th Century and the key verse is 10, "For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever."
