Paul and Silas traveled to Thessalonica, and Paul spent three Sabbaths teaching in the synagogue there. An angry mob forced them to leave, but he intended to return. He never made it, and he sent Timothy in his stead. He sent this, his very first epistle, with Timothy, and it was meant to encourage the believers in their wait for the return of Christ. He also exhorts them to lead the godly life of faith, hope, and love, and to stay away from immorality and paganism.
