The Book of Exodus gets its name from the "exit" of God's chosen people from bondage. This book was written between 1440 and 1400 B.C. by Moses, about the exodus from Egypt. The key truth in the book is deliverance, and the key verse, from 3:8, is "So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites."
