• Association of Professional Genealogists  - APG members conduct research or serve in related fields; librarians and archivists, writers and editors, consultants and indexers, instructors and lecturers, booksellers and publishers, computer specialists and geneticists.
• Board for Certification of Genealogists  - Tests and certifies researchers in the U.S., Canada, and abroad and pledges a code of ethics and conduct.
• International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists  - Sets standards for the genealogical community through comprehensive written and oral examinations.
