Category Description:

Meteorology is the scientific study of the atmosphere with a specific focus on weather forecasting. Variables such as temperature, pressure, and water vapor are combined with local, regional, and global geographical information to produce weather predictions for timescales from the next few hours to the next week. Additionally, global patterns of ocean and wind currents and broadscale weather phenomena are studied and incorporated into models predicting local and regional effects.
