Tsunami Early Warning Centers

• CTEC - The Community Tsunami Early-Warning Centre  - Formed to provide an early warning system for coastal communities in Sri Lanka, and to develop community preparedness programs and facilities; describes their progress and service, with background on the disaster of 2004.
• Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) - Tsunami Information  - Coordinates the Pacific Tsunami Warning System and is developing similar warning programs for other seas and oceans; includes background on tsunamis, and animation of the 2004 event, and information about their programs.
• International Tsunami Information Center  - Established by UNESCO to improve tsunami preparedness for all Pacific Ocean nations. Includes general background, current bulletins, technical information, resources and links, and details of their intergovernmental programs and cooperation.
• Japan Meteorological Agency  - Provides warning and advisories for communities at risk of tsunami; describes their service, with current status and a list of recent warnings.
• Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre  - Established to detect, monitor, verify and warn of tsunami and possible threats to Australian coastal areas and islands. Describes their services and facilities, with a FAQ and links.
• National Weather Service: Pacific Tsunami Warning Center  - Shows warnings for Hawaii, the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and the Caribbean Sea.
• NOAA West Coast and Alaska Warning Center  - Contains details on the latest tsunami event - earthquake preliminary magnitude, location, and outcome. Also includes links to related information.
• NWS Tsunami Centers  - The US National Weather Service provides information about their warning services (West Coast and Alaska, and Pacific Tsunami Warning Centers) and their tsunami preparedness programs.
• Pacific Tsunami Warning Center  - Find information about the center including details of organizational structure, areas of responsibilities, media and visitor information, staff and contacts. Includes tsunami messages for the Pacific Ocean for the past thirty days, maps and archive.
