• Big Canopy Database  - Initiative centered on combining the efforts of forest canopy researchers with those of database and computer scientists to produce tools for effectively managing, analyzing, and disseminating shared data on ecological questions.
• Canopy Research at UVic  - Research endeavor focusing on the identification of questions and hypoytheses that facilitate the addressing of basic biodiversity conservation questions.
• The Forest Canopy Lab  - Research, conservation, and outreach facility at Evergreen State College focusing on the canopy of forests around the world.
• Global Canopy Programme  - Alliance of scientific institutions involved in forest canopy research, education, and conservation. Aims to define and explore the range and economic values of forest ecosystem services.
• International Canopy Network  - Facilitates the continuing interaction of people concerned with the world's forest canopies and ecosystems.
• Wind River Canopy Crane Research Facility (WRCCRF)  - Cooperative scientific and educational venture between the UW College of Forest Resources, the USFS Pacific Northwest Research Station, and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Operates as an active research site of the Biogeosphere-Atmosphere Stable Isotope Network (BASIN) and AmeriFlux.
