Gatlinburg is a small city in Sevier County, Tennessee, situated on the border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and surrounded on all sides by mountains or high ridges. Settled in the early 1800s, the community was named for Radford Gatlin, in whose store the first post office was established in 1856.
