Chapel Hill, in Orange County, is the home of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH), the oldest state-supported university in the United States. Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill comprise the "Research Triangle," which was named in 1959 after the Research Triangle Park.
