Biltmore Forest is a town in Buncombe County, North Carolina. It has an area of 2.9 square miles. After the 1916 flood in Asheville, it was decided to sell off some of the Biltmore Company's land to lessen their tax burden. The land was finally sold, and in 1923, the town of Biltmore Forest was chartered. In 1929, Asheville annexed a portion of town, but the legislature reversed that act in 1935.
