Beulaville is a small town in the coastal plains of Duplin County, North Carolina. It was once known as Snatchette for reasons that cannot be posted here. After the townspeople declared the name ribald and unsuitable, they named the town Tearshirt because of the frequent fights that broke out at the country store, which resulted in torn clothing. It was named Tearshirt until 1910, when it was named after the Beulah Baptist Church.
