Bahama, North Carolina, is an unincorporated town in Durham County. Settled in 1750, it is sometimes known as Hunkadora, but was originally named Balltown but was renamed to honor the three leading families in the community. The "BA" in Bahama stands for the surname Ball; the "HA" stands for Harris, and the "MA" stands for Mangum.
