• Mississippi Center for Technology Transfer  - University facility dedicated to improving the quality and safety of surface transportation systems.
• National Center for Biodefense Communications  - Conducts basic and applied research for the early detection of significant human and animal health threats. Also issues authorized bioterror alerts and notifications.
• Southern Institute for Mental Health Advocacy, Research, and Training (SMHART)  - Initiative aimed at improving mental health service delivery in rural and urban Mississippi.
