Cultural organizations promote cultural awareness through education, activities, service projects, etc. A variety of cultures are represented on the College Park campus: Asian American, Caribbean, Latin American, Chinese, Greek, Ethiopian, Sri Lankan, and many more.

  • African Students' Association  - Learn about the activities of this group of African students who foster the spirit of unity, togetherness, and humanity.
  • Asian American Student Union  - Service, representation and advocacy group seeking to promote the Asian Pacific American heritage and culture.
  • Caribbean Students Association (CSA)  - Holds events, programs, and service that promote or raise awareness on Caribbean culture, politics, and history.
  • Chinese Student and Scholar Association  - Organization created to foster communication and interaction among the Chinese students and help them adapt to the US culture and society.
  • Chinese Student Association  - Large minority organization aims to provide means of communication and social interaction that enhance the appreciation of Chinese culture.
  • Develop Empower and Synergize India  - Nonprofit organization promoting the study and discussion of various aspects pertaining to India through the exchange of information, charitable activities, and social entertainment.
  • Digenis  - Hellenic graduate student association. Aims to help incoming Hellenic students adapt to a new culture and social environment.
  • Enlaces Latino Americanos  - Organization of minority students establishes social, cultural, and athletic alliances with Latin Americans. Likewise promotes the practices of the Hispanic culture.
  • Ethiopian Students Association  - Aims to bring cultural awareness to the College Park community through annual cultural shows and various other activities.
  • FCA - Filipino Cultural Association  - Group hosts cultural, social, and educational activities that aim to promote awareness of the Filipino-American culture.
  • Greek Heritage Society  - Ethnic Greek organization seeking to promote the Greek culture and unite those who are interested in the Greek tradition.
  • Iranian Graduate Student Foundation  - Non-religious, non-profit, and non-partisan student organization seeking to develop leadership skills and an awareness of social responsibilities.
  • Kedma  - Orthodox Jew students organization stages distinct cultural and religious activities such as concerts, cafe nights, study seminars, and prayer gatherings.
  • Korean Student Association  - Support system and a platform for promoting the culture of the Korean and Korean-American community within the University of Maryland.
  • Lebanese Student Organization  - Cultural student group for Lebanese and those interested about Lebanon, its culture and its people.
  • Multiracial and Biracial Student Association  - Building a community of racially mixed students to help explore individual identities and promote racial integration.
  • Muslim Women of Maryland  - Organization serves as a forum for Muslim women to strengthen their faith and build sisterhood with fellow students and community members.
  • NAACP at University of Maryland  - UMD chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Seeks to eliminate racial prejudice, raise awareness on the adverse effects of racial discrimination, and undertake lawful action to address discrimination issues.
  • Portuguese Language Student Association  - Association created for students from Portuguese speaking countries such as Brazil, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, and Angola. Also accommodates non-Portuguese students for membership.
  • Pride Alliance  - Aims to provide a safe and supportive community for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, questioning and allied students.
  • The Rumi Club  - Faith and culture advocating organization establishes a platform where people from different nationalities and religions can enjoy diversity and learn from one another.
  • Russian Club  - Student organization devoted to providing cultural experiences for students interested in Russian culture.
  • Sri Lankan Association  - Venue for promoting intellectual, social and cultural interaction among Sri Lankan students. Also aims to be instrumental in promoting leadership skills.
  • Thai Student Association  - Representing the Thai student community in the University of Maryland, this organization promotes Thai cilture and advocates for unity.
