Morrill is located in Waldo County, Maine. The first settlements were made by James Weymouth, Benjamin Smith, Joseph Corning, and Nathaniel Cushman, who moved to the area with their families in 1801 and 1802, having purchased their lands from General Henry Knox, proprietor under the Waldo Patent. The town was incorporated on March 3, 1855 from a portion of Belmont, and named after Anson P. Morrill, the governor of the state. The town is accessed through Maine Routes 3 and 131.
